The alliance between IFEMA and Cesena Fiera with VNU Exhibitions Asia made possible the creation of Mac Fruit Attraction China, which is part of a larger exhibition project, called Horti China, that will take place from 22 to 24 November 2017 at the Convention and Exhibition Center in Shanghai.
Organized by IFEMA and Cesena Fiera, China Mac Fruit Attraction will be a meeting place for Asian operators and international trade in fruit and vegetables. Currently, China is seen as a strategic market for its high development potential, so this new platform will be a business opportunity for the participating companies that will be able to develop contacts and partnerships in the Chinese market.
The export of fruit and vegetables from the EU to China in 2015 amounted to 22,768 tonnes, worth 36.3 million euro. Amongst the European countries, Italy, France and Spain are the main exporters to China. Last year, according to data up to November, EU exports to China amounted to 31.298 tonnes with a value of 45.6 million euro. The main Italian product exported to China is kiwi, which in 2016 reached 13,000 tons.
Mac Fruit Attraction China will be held during Horti China, organized by VNU Exhibition Asia, and the fair will be divided into four sections: Horti Seed, addressed to the seed sector; Horti Tech, dedicated to the technologies applied to the production; IFresh, addressed to the Chinese industry of fruit and vegetables, Mac Fruit Attraction China, that will include the international fruit and vegetable industry.
“I am very pleased with this partnership -says Renzo Piraccini, Macfrut president- as it offers a unique opportunity to expand into the huge Chinese market. This project is another step forward in our strategy to promote the internationalization of the Italian fruit and vegetable sector”.
