The second season of Nergi baby kiwi of Ortofruit Italia will soon start

From August 25th to the first days of November, the second campaign of the Italian production of ‘Nergi’ baby kiwi will take place. This product is cultivated in the province of Cuneo (Piedmont region) by the companies which are part of ‘Ortofruit Italia’ producers association.

Features The Italian production is exclusively committed to Ortofruit Italia. Baby kiwi is a non-GMO fruit, as big as a grape, characterized by green, edible and sweet skin. It is rich in vitamins, minerals (potassium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus) and fibres. It falls into the category of ‘superfruits’ thanks to its high concentration of vitamin C.

Beside small fruits For 2015, in the land of Cuneo a collection of 300 thousand 250 gram trays is expected. This production specifically addresses markets with a high penetration of the consumption of berries (France, Italy, Germany, Benelux, and the United Kingdom). In the counters of large-scale retail trade this fruit is in fact next to blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and currants. Thanks to the convenience of its consumption, it broadens the range of healthy snacks, with 52 calories per 100 grams of fresh fruit only.
