From the 2nd to the 6th of April in Tokyo there will be the fifth edition of JOOP, the Japan Olive Oil Prize, sponsored by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Japan.
The competition aims to promote the best extra virgin olive oils of the world, by representing a unique opportunity for manufacturers to increase the reputation of their brand abroad.
Amongst the awards given to the winners there are access to important food and agricultural fairs, articles in specialized magazines and promotional events in the most prestigious shopping centers in Japan.
Every extra virgin olive oil produced in 2016 may enter the competition, as long as the samples come from a batch production of at least 1000kg. The applications for selection will close on March 31st.
The panel of judges, will be supervised by Dr. Marzia Migliorini (Chemical Laboratory, Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Florence), and will be composed of Pietro Paolo Arca (ITA), Ertur Selin (TUR), Pampaloni Marco (ITA), Pablo Voitzuk (USA), Michiyo Yamada (JAP).
