Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI starts the trial of the Digital Passport, the agri-food traceability system realized in collaboration with the Poligrafico dello Stato, Qualivita Foundation and supervised by CSQA Certificazioni.
The operation involves the connection of the Digital Passport with the Trust yourFood® App for the verification of the traceability data and the activation of further services.
"Protecting excellences such as the Balsamic Vinegar of Modena - said Federico Desimoni, director of the Consortium - is a duty, because, being so widespread and famous, it is exposed to counterfeit phenomena more than other products. However, equipping each bottle of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena with a seal that certifies the originality and above all the traceability, involving the consumer in an alliance aimed at protecting the authentic product, is a further step in the right direction".
The solution developed by Poligrafico for the agri-food sector involves the integration of an anti-counterfeiting and traceability system and certified data (through blockchain technology), from CSQA with the involvement of the entire supply chain.
The digital passport is presented as a mark to put on each bottle in defense of quality and originality and it will be customized in two formats, designed with sophisticated security printing elements.
