The three Italian Pecorino cheeses at the Winter Fancy Food Show

After participating in the Summer Fancy Food Show last summer, the Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Romano POD, the Consortium for the Protection of Pecorino Sardo POD and the Consortium for the Protection of Cheese Fiore Sardo POD came back overseas to tell the thousands of visitors of the Winter Fancy Food Show the “3 Pecorini” project which aims to promote the three POD cheeses in target countries such as the United States, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and France.

Visitors of the Winter Fancy Food Show of San Francisco were able to know the differences and the quality of the three products. A true international showcase that hosted thousands of professionals from all over the world, confirming a great opportunity for the representatives of the Consortia that were able to tell the uniqueness of the three Pecorino cheeses.

In 2018 (January-October), in fact, over 8,500 tons of pecorino cheese were imported to the United States, for an increase of + 40% compared to the previous year.

Also in the European market there are growing values: in the period from January to September 2018 over 3,600 tons of pecorino cheese were imported into the European Union for an increase of 0.61%.
