The prosecco dedicate to the sculptor Antonio Canova

A wine to celebrate the great painter and sculptor Antonio Canova, the father of neo-classicism. It is called “Terre del Canova” and it is an Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG produced by Venegazzù Montelvini. The initiative is launched by the Foundation Museum Canova of Possagno, which gathers most of the original plaster works from which the artist, who lived between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, has produced his masterpieces that are housed by the most important museums in the world. Close to his homeland, Canova left the will that his assets stay in his native town Possagno, in the Treviso hills, not far away from the historical town of Asolo.

«Our land - says Sarah Serena, Marketing Manager of Montelvini - feels to owe it to the artist. A material and especially a cultural debt: we all grew up with his idea of beauty. That's why we hailed enthusiastically the invitation of the Foundation Canova and we decided to dedicate to Canova a selection of our best Prosecco».

«The Asolo DOCG - adds Alberto Serena, Vice President of Montelvini - is the top wine of the territory and is considered the best one in his category. Our “Terre del Canova” is an Extra Dry Millesimato with a rich bouquet and the strong sapidity which is a feature of Asolo Prosecco». Terre del Canova depicts into the label the image of Le Tre Grazie, which is probably the most famous masterpiece of Antonio Canova.
