Segafredo Zanetti acquires Tru Blue in Australia

Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group, through its subsidiary Company Segafredo Zanetti Australia, acquired 100% of Tru Blue, the coffee division of Boutique Beverage Pty Ltd group, specialised in distribution and marketing, which has already been a customer of the Group for some years. Tru Blue, with its headquartered in Brisbane, has been able to build a leadership position in the domain of coffee industry in Queensland.

With this acquisition, the Italian Group has strengthened its competitive position in Australia, becoming a market leader as for espresso coffee and building a distribution platform able to ensure even wider expansion of Segafredo Zanetti brand in Australia.

The Company in Brisbane is added to the existing subsidiaries in Sidney, Newcastle (New South Wales), Melbourne (Victoria), Perth (Western Australia), and Adelaide (South Australia).

Luca Giorgella, Director of Segafredo Zanetti Australia, commented: ‘With this acquisition, our Group will have a great opportunity to strengthen its presence in Queensland, a region that accounts for about 20% of the entire national market.

Pascal Heritier, COO of Massimo Zanetti Beverage, concluded: ‘At present, we can argue that with this acquisition, the distribution structure of our Group has reached a size sufficient to further increase the Australian market in significant and consistent way, both through Segafredo Zanetti and through other brands that could become interesting for that Strategic market’.

Mzbg operates on 18 factories active in Europe, Asia, and America, as well as through an international network that includes about 400 cafés in 50 Countries. In addition, MZBG completes its range of products with the sale of coffee machines and such complementary products as high quality cocoa, chocolate, and spices.
