Salumificio F.lli Riva announces its antibiotics-free cooked ham

Salumificio F.lli Riva of Molteno, one of the first Italian producers of cooked ham under its own brand and for the main private labels of the large-scale retail trade announces its first cooked ham made with porks reared without the use of antibiotics, to offer the consumer a safer product of better quality.

The offer - which will be available starting April - involves the production of high quality Golden Pig cooked ham with the use of pig meat coming from Dutch farms, untreated during their life, with no preventive therapy based on antibiotics.
The decision to invest new resources to identify and acquire absolute quality raw material from the KDV certified Dutch supply chain is the result of the Group's commitment to find a product that can meet the growing needs of customers and consumers towards products quality and maximum safety, as well as in support of the global fight against antibiotic resistance.
“Our company, whose 70% production is made for the private label, has always invested resources for research and development not only of more advanced production, slicing and packaging technologies, but has always sought high quality raw materials. Not all the breeding systems allow us to guarantee the absence of antibiotics from birth. For this reason we invested in the search for breeding farms that would allow us to equip continuous quality control systems, precisely to obtain raw materials of absolute quality” declares the managing director Giuseppe Riva.
