The business partners of IAG - Italian Angels for Growth, the leading business angels network in Italy - have invested 235,000 Euros in FruttaWeb. It is the first Italian e-commerce of fruit and vegetables, thanks to which it is possible to choose by means of a computer or smartphone from the more than 1,300 varieties of fruits, vegetables, cereals, and spices and receive them directly at home or in one’s office.
The entrepreneur Oscar Zerbinati, too, became a partner in this operation, for which he provided 50,000 Euros. This investment will allow FruttaWeb to expand its business, increasing the range of products and enhancing the organic line, through an agreement with one of the most important fruit and vegetable brands in this sector.
Fruttaweb comes from the experience gained for over 40 years by Biasin family as farmers. They are among the best producers of watermelons in Emilia Romagna and the first ones who opened an exotic fruit and vegetable corner in the land of Bologna. In more than three years, Fruttaweb has already reached 13,000 families, delivering 270,000 products.
Marco Biasin says: ‘We want to bridge the technological gap that characterizes the fruit and vegetable sector. In other market areas, the on-line offer is already varied: fruits and vegetables, too, deserve their own space on people’s smartphone. We want to show that if there is a difference between a t-shirt and a Giorgio Armani branded t-shirt, then even more there is a difference between an onion and a Ramata Montoro onion. You only have to know and be able to tell people how to recognize it’.
